St. Mary's Hospice was developed to assist individuals and their families through the dying process. Our goal is to provide physical, emotional and spiritual support to those with a life expectancy of six months or less, whether it is in your home, the nursing home or another program within Franciscan Health Community. Hospice services are also provided in other nursing homes, assisted living facilities and individual residences.
Our St. Paul hospice services include a combination of the following services based upon the individual's medical/social/spiritual needs.
- Nursing care
- Medical Services available on intermittent basis 24 hours/day, seven days a week
- Pain and Symptom Management/Medications
- Hospice nursing assistance
- Oxygen/Durable Medical Equipment
- Dietary
- Bereavement Counseling/services up to one year post death
- Social Services
- Pastoral Care
- Volunteers
- Family lodging on a limited basis
- Healing Touch Therapy
- Physical Therapy
- Occupational Therapy
- Speech Therapy
Some other benefits provided to hospice clients and their families include: ongoing care plan review with Hospice Medical Director, an annual memorial service, Bereavement Support (Group) and referral information on grief support groups within the community.
St. Mary's Hospice is a community-based,intermittent hospice. Our service area consists of a 25 mile radius from our address at 1903 Norfolk Avenue, St. Paul, MN. Our St. Paul hospice also has the ability to reach out to other nursing homes and assisted living facilities within Ramsey, Hennepin and Dakota counties.
