1925 Norfolk AvenueSt. Paul, MN 55116(651) 696-8439Fax: (651) 696-8431Southwest Area Meals provides hot, nutritious meals to homebound persons in the southwest area of St. Paul. The meals are low-cost and delivery is provided free by volunteers from 22 area churches.
There are no eligibility requirements; the program has no age or income restrictions. To arrange for meals just call and delivery can usually start the next day. To get started you will need to provide name, address, phone number, an emergency contact person's name and phone number and any dietary restrictions. Meals are delivered Monday-Friday. Clients can order just one meal a week or one for every day. If needed, extra meals are sent on Friday to be reheated for Saturday and Sunday. The program is especially beneficial for persons following a hospital stay.
Meals are prepared fresh daily at St. Mary's Home. The menus are dietitian-approved. Special diets available include: low sodium (2 gram), diabetic, low fat, no spice, ground and pureed.
Delivery area for the program is the southwest corner of St. Paul bordered by the Mississippi River on three sides and Summit Avenue to the North.
