Welcome to Our Lady of Good Counsel Home. Our mission and spiritual focus is to provide end of life care to cancer patients with limited financial resources. As you enter the home, what’s immediately noticeable is the pastoral sense of peace and calm that exists.
Our goal is to make residents comfortable until they die, by managing their symptoms and supporting their loved ones. Our dedicated staff brings a remarkable professionalism and compassion to their work. There is a sense of holiness that creates a calm, spiritual peace for those entrusted to our care.
We are honored to be chosen by the Dominican Sisters of Hawthorne to continue their mission. With a 75-year tradition of providing Catholic health care in St. Paul, Franciscan Health Community has a spiritual focus that blends well with the Sister’s mission of providing end of life care to cancer patients and their loved ones.
Fortunately, we are able to provide this care free of charge to our patients because of a tremendously generous donor community. They value the importance of quality, dignified care in the final stages of life for those unable to pay. It’s a tremendous relief for residents to know that they won’t be burdened financially during their stay.
